Well, it seems that the mystery of the Olympic selection has been revealed. http://www.youtube.com/user/SoftTissueTherapy Excellence is not a singular act, but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do.

So who did get it and how? "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors" Plato

he looked like he was loving it when I saw him in Sydney. The industry might wear him down though. It wears us all down. We are but a piece of one huge puzzle,....recognise it

Yes the grape vine has suggested who has been picked. Our industry had absolutely no say in who was chosen. Our team was picked by industries other than our own. Hence political motivations were rife. Bernd Adolph has gone to the last few Olympics and Commonwealth Games and he was second in charge for a few of those. With Brad Hiskins in semi retirement, I thought Bernd was a shoe in for head of service. He didn't even make the team!!! That's a joke. Bernd is the shining light in Australia for our Sports fraternity. Him not being chosen is a reflection of the pathetic insecurities of certain people within our sports medicine fraternity. He would have lead like a leader, spoke like a spokes person, presented like a presenter and did us proud. Exactly what certain other industries don't want to happen. He would have made them feel threatened by his professionalism. Hence he was not chosen. What a step backwards for our industry and what a shame for the athletes. People say I'm bias........

Personal insecurities. Professional fear and bully tactics.
The best sports med teams are those that integrate, those that respect each others skill set, those that communicate openly, those that encourage each to be their best. Those that suppress one industry so that another can thrive will end in disaster. There is hundreds of examples of this.
Lets hope best practise prevails.

Unfortunately i don't think this will be the case. The fact that the c'wealth are considering not have an STT as head of their own area is evidence enough of the mentality of the potential group. It's a big step backwards for us and the C'wealth set up. Why would any group in their right mind want to depreciate the excellent set up from previous games? Think about it.
